Quarrying is underway for the Verde Spluga stone cladding for the principal façade of the new AXA office building on Stampfenbachstrasse in central Zurich.
The stone is sourced locally from the Italian side of the Splügenpass, the historic route through the Lepontine Alps, connecting Graubünden and Lombardy.
Quarrying and processing of the stones will take several months and the façade will be installed from spring 2025.
