Stöcklin Areal

Aesch-Reinach, Switzerland 2017–present (under construction)

Client: HRS Real Estate AG Competition, first prize

On the Stöcklin site, at the meeting point of Aesch and Reinach, a new residential quarter is taking shape. Developed by HRS Real Estate together with Senevita and the Turidomus investment foundation, the project brings together eight buildings and two parking structures to form a contemporary urban ensemble. The new neighbourhood includes privately owned apartments, a senior living residence, and a range of service and residential buildings designed by several collaborating architectural practices.

The masterplan is framed by a broad green belt, a landscape of riverbank paths, meadows, and woodland. At its centre lies the Stöcklin Garden — a generous civic space with a pond and planted terraces that acts as a shared meeting place for the community. Within this setting, Caruso St John Architects are designing four residential buildings. The neighbourhood is conceived as a composition of varied building forms, brought together through a coherent material palette.
