Caruso St John Architects

Location: Hong Kong
Client: Gagosian Gallery
Project Status: Built

The Gagosian Gallery Hong Kong is located on the seventh floor of the Pedder Building, a historic commercial building within the centre of the city built in 1923. The spaces of the gallery are laid out on a single floor and respond to the rhythm of the beams and windows of the existing loft interior. A new, structured oak floor runs through the spaces of the gallery, all of which provide a tightly controlled environment to international museum standards. The project was undertaken in collaboration with Hong Kong based architects Atelier Pacific.
