Haus zum Magazin

Schönenwerd, Switzerland 2023–current

Client: Ecoreal AG Heritage Site

The Haus zum Magazin, like many buildings in Schönenwerd, is closely tied to the history of the Bally shoe company. The ensemble was developed around the turn of the century in three distinct construction phases: 1887, 1903, and 1913, each contributing to the layered character of the site.

The current project focuses on the two extension wings from 1903 and 1913. Its primary aim is to transform underused or vacant office areas into high‑quality residential space and to give new life to the historic structure. Alongside essential restoration and interior refurbishment, the project includes the addition of balconies and the design of a new, welcoming entrance area.
